During pregnancy, a good number of women will notice blue veins in their breasts. This is a sign of pregnancy that not many women expect. This is why even when they see these veins; pregnant women still do not understand why blue veins occur in breasts in pregnancy. The main cause of all the changes that take place inside the body during pregnancy is the production of the progesterone and estrogen hormones. These hormones cause the breasts to grow larger and to become tender and soft. One of the other changes that a lot of women never see coming when they get pregnant is the formation of blue veins just under the skin of their breasts when they are pregnant.
One of the main reasons as to why the blue veins in the breasts are very visible is because of the increase in blood supply to major areas of the body. The breasts usually start to prepare for breastfeeding as early as in the first trimester of pregnancy. This is why blood is supplied to the breasts. The reason why the blue veins are more visible is because they increase in size to accommodate the large volume of blood that will be flowing through them. Nutrients and blood that is going to the baby can also pass though these veins and this makes them very visible to pregnant women.
The blue veins do not form during pregnancy. These are veins that are always there but do not start doing much work until when you get pregnant. You should therefore not start to wonder what is happening to you when you get pregnant and you start noticing a network of blue veins all over your breasts. There is nothing that you can do about the blue breasts apart from sitting tight and waiting until after you have given birth if you are not planning to breastfeed your baby. If you are planning to breastfeed, the blue veins will disappear when you stop breastfeeding the baby.
The blue veins that show on breasts when you are about to deliver your baby are usually a sign that your breasts are preparing for the milk that they will be carrying as you breastfeed your baby. There is no need for concern when you notice blue veins on your breasts during pregnancy because these veins are usually a sign that everything is happening as it should during pregnancy. You need to be patient until the blue veins are ready to disappear on their own.
